Melissa Peterman, Executive Director of Townspeople, discusses her organization’s mission and services; its 100-Day Challenge; and its work with local hotels and motels, and homeowners to provide emergency housing options for those on the brink of homelessness.  

Raul Pietro Ramirez, the Artistic Director of the Spreckels Organ Society, talks about formation of the the Society’s Rock Band, comprised of Rameriz and some of the area’s top rock musicians.  Ramirez is joined by three of the six Rock Band members — Harley Magsino (bass guitar), William Fleming (lead singer and trombone) and Chloe Lou (lead singer) —
to chat about the group’s concerts and the goals of the band.

Dennis Peters, makes his Scripps Ranch Theatre debut by playing 40 diverse characters in the one-person play, Fully Committed, that runs from September 6 through September 29.  Peters is joined by Fully Committed Director, Ted Leib, to chat about the benefits and challenges of directing and acting in a one person show.

Denise Goodson, widow of Solon Goodson, is joined by her daughter, Christal Aikey, to talk about the impact the Southern California Hospice Foundation and Heavenly Home had on their beloved Solon during the final stages of his life.

Steve Hasbrooke, the new CFO of Mission Federal Credit Union and an 18+ year employee of Mission Fed, talks about his organization’s more than six decades of enhancing the lives of San Diego County residents. Hasbrooke chats about the current state of the national and local economies.

Emily Moberly, Vice President of Strategy & Impact for the Starfall Education Foundation, discusses the Foundation’s “4-Part Learn to Read Series” and its Parent-Teacher Center website to engage Pre-K through 5th grade students in all aspects of reading.

Kerri Fox, Executive Director and CEO of Resounding Joy, chats about the organization’s clinical and evidence-based use of music as therapy.  Fox is joined by Alysia Elston, a Navy veteran, who talks about Resounding Joy’s “Sounds of Service” veterans program, discusses her experiences in the organization’s veteran band.  The band will be featured at a October 5 fundraiser at a private residence.

Todd Tibbits, President and CEO of the YMCA of San Diego County, discusses the Y’s focus on social responsibility, healthy living and youth development.  Tibbits talks about the Y’s impact on more than 300,000 community members through camp programs, Expanded Learning Programs, Childcare Resource Service, as the Y is recognized as a convener, connector and unifier in our communities.
