Two leaders from Chula Vista Elementary School District, Michael Bruder, Innovation and Instruction Coordinator, and Marc Keehmer, VAPA Coordinator, share the development of the “Sound Station, ” which will be the sixth station for students to explore strengths and different career pathways.

Rita Redaelli, Executive Director of the American Lung Association in California, chats about the Sunday, January 29 Lung Force Walk at Liberty Station. Redaelli talks about the Association’s focus on lung health advocacy, education and research.

Greg Schuett, Vice President of the San Diego County Outdoor Education Foundation (SDCOEF), discusses how the Foundation raises funds to provide scholarships to families who cannot afford to send their child to the hallowed Cuyamaca Outdoor School (COS). Schuett is joined by Kris Pamintuan, Principal of COS, and Dustin Burns, COS Project Specialist, to talk about the importance of the outdoor education experience. The 75-year old COS is under the auspices of the San Diego County Office of Education and is located in Cuyamaca Rancho State Park.

Kathy Brombacher, Director of Lucky Stiff, and Ted Lieb, an actor in the Scripps Ranch Theatre (SRT) and Oceanside Theatre Company’s (OTC) co-produced play, chat about the zany musical that will run from January 27-February 19 at SRT and March 3-19 at OTC.

Natalie Sherod, the 2022 Leukemia and Lymphoma Society’s (LLS) Woman of the Year, talks about her role as a LLS Visionary. Sherod is joined by Kathlene Seymour, Executive Director of LLS’s Southern California/Hawaii Region, and Jennifer Kornreisch, Visionaries of the Year Campaign Development Director, to chat about LLS’s mission, its rank as the global leader in the fight against blood cancer and its outreach to LLS patients, survivors, caregivers, families and healthcare professionals.

Norm Mackenzie, Community Engagement Coordinator for the Salvation Army’s Adult Rehabilitation Center, talks about the Center’s services and two of its upcoming events: the Wednesday, January 25 “Second Chances Celebration” from 10:00-11:30 at the Center’s Otay Mesa locale, and the Saturday, January 28 “Walkathon” beginning at 8:00 a.m. at Leidos in University City.

Danitza Villanueva, Chairman of the 114th Anniversary Charity Ball, and Dr. Lisa Conradi, Executive Director of Chadwick Center at Rady Children’s Hospital, discuss the February 4 event at the Hotel Del Coronado. Villanueva talks about the history of the Charity Ball and why she selected the Chadwick Center as this year’s beneficiary.
